Hey guys! So, I finally got my camera in the mail! Which is truly exciting, because it was a much needed upgrade from my Nikon D70s. Don't get me wrong, I love Ichabod (yup, I named that beauty! Figured it makes sense since it was on a tripod a lot.. Tripod - crane, Ichabod, Ichabod Crane.. Eh?) but it was time for an upgrade!
I got a Canon 60D body + Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM lens to go with it. Goodness, I'm in love. As soon as I took it out of it's little protective pouch, I knew there was absolutely no doubt in my mind whether or not it was the camera for me.
But goodness am I lucky! I woke up around 8 AM and instantly checked the tracking for my package. It said it was on the truck for delivery at 6:51 AM. I was like, "Okay, it's on its way. Be patient!" Then 5 hours go by, still no package.. Which is sorta infuriating because even though it's coming from UPS, they usually have stuff delivered about the same time USPS gets to our place. I know that's not a set thing, but it's always happened that way for us. A few hours after that, Mike had to go to work. So he's waiting at the bus stop and he told me he saw two UPS guys around our area. I thought for sure that would be it! But even more time goes by, and nothing. So I say screw it and finally go take a shower, because I was lookin' like one major greaseball and wanted to look nice when I saw my dad & aunt that night. So I get out of the shower and check the tracking again. It said it was delivered about 10 minutes ago. So I freak out and put on some clothes real quick and run outside. I look everywhere, and nothing. Now I'm panicing. I look under the bushes, nothing. Next door at my neighbor chilling in his garage, nothing. So then I go back inside real quick to check the tracking again, and it said it was signed for and left at the front door. Which is odd, since it was definitely just my 8 month old daughter and I at home. Back outside I go, and a car is slowly pulling up to my house and the guy driving is just staring at me. Finally he asks, "does a Marlene live here?" and I go running up to him, "yes, that's me!" and he proceeds to tell me how they left the package at his house... My goodness, I was grateful. If he would have opened that package... I'm sure he would've realized he just hit the jackpot.
Anyway, I took some test shots to share with you guys! Nothing fabulous, but oh my gosh I'M SO EXCITED!!
Sláinte!
